What is Discord?
Discord is a digital platform for creating online groups. It enables private groups or persons with similar interests to connect online using voice (VoIP), video, chat, text, and media. Discord grew out of the video game industry and related subreddit groups, but it has since gone well beyond that. Users can access Discord via software download, web browser, or mobile phone app. The company was founded by Jason Citron and Stanislav Vishnevsky. The software was released in May of 2015.
When is the Discord IPO date?
We won’t know when Discord will become public until one or more of the following events occur:
– Another round of investments has been announced by the firm.
– The financial press receives new information on the Discord IPO date.
– Discord announces (or leaks) that it has filed an S-1 with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
– The SEC makes a Discord S-1 filing publicly accessible Announcement (or press leak) of a prospective SPAC merger Discord chooses a lead underwriter or banking partner for the IPO.
These announcements and milestones will serve as proof of progress toward a planned public offering. We won’t have a specific date until the corporation and the SEC publicly post the S-1 filing. The IPO date, on the other hand, is usually a month or two after the S-1 is made public.
Is a Discord SPAC Merger in the works?
A SPAC merger is possible at this time. However, given the current halt in SPAC acquisitions and the quickly rising Discord value, a traditional IPO appears to be more feasible.
